Starting Over

Post by john porter »

Anyone ever have to start over once season opened? It stinks but I am about to rebuild my pack of hounds. My old dog is down and I dont have anything trained up for cats. Guess it will be a year to work some pups and take life easy. Hope everyone trees a few this year.. John

You could say that I started over a few years ago. I had the same outlook at the time, take it easy and deal with pups until I started to see what I needed to.

Boy was I wrong, time flew and the pups were doing good, so I wanted them to do better. I trained more and they got better. But now better is not good enough because I want the best.

Now, there is a big difference between better hounds and the best hounds. Starting over has been anything but easy. But it has easily been one of the more rewarding things I have done second only to the wife and kids.

Setting realistic goals for me and my dogs was a big help in my training program. Keep us posted, Have fun and lots of luck. Good hunting. John.
