I figured it was about time for another shit storm. Has anybody had the pleasure of calling Tri- Tronics lately? If your answer is no count yourself amongst the lucky. For I believe they have been Garminized!!!
Well, I guess I will just go about explaining what took place. But first I guess I will have to clarify the fact, that holy crap it's been more years than I care to admit(50 to be exact) that I have been fooling around with hounds and hound products. And have always been a loyal customer of Tri-Tronics products. Have always received excellent, courteous treatment. Combined with excellent workmanship.
Now within the last week I noticed that the batteries in my shock collar were not holding as long as I felt they should. Pretty simple fix. Right? Well boy are you delusional. First off before I go off on my rant. I am ashamed that I can't remember the woman's name that normally took care of customer service at Tri-Tronics. Because I would have liked to say publicly thanks! She may have jumped ship when the new regime took over, she was there for many years. Shame on Garmen they should have promoted her and made her in charge of customer service.
I'll just try and make this short and sweet. Started out with a phone call, got the normal Garmin answering machine that politely let me know I was in for a 29 min. wait. Then a person with a foreign accent answered the phone.(No I am not a bigit nor am I prejudice, I am just very quick at recognizing hope and change). After my very quick 10 second conversation with her she advised me that she couldn't help me but would gladly transfer me to the next person that could. I said okay, and then the next typical Garmin answering machine greeted me. That let me know I had another 25 min. wait. Which prompted me to hang up and call collar clinic. Pretty sad but I believe it is in and of an era. Never in all of those years did I have to put up with that BS.
Now these are just my feelings. I have no basis to back up my theory. But just sit back for the roller coaster ride boys. I believe Tri-Tronics electric collars will probably be a thing of the past as we knew them. I think the customer service will go to hell, and I think the product will also go to hell in a handbasket. But my thoughts are it won't be because they can't make a good product. It will be because they want to force you to buy the Alpha which is a combination tracking and shocking. And really, what better way to do that than to own both companies. I hope I'm wrong because I think there's always a place for good electric collar. But one only has to ask themselves is there a pattern here.
And again for the ones who think that I just beat up on them for no reason. As I've said in the past. I do enjoy the products, and probably if I get backed up into a corner. And can prove that it warrants the extra money, and saves me money by buying a combination deal. More than likely I will, but it sure burns my ass to be forced to do anything.
