Post by longshot »

Who all has one and who has used one in the past?

Can anyone post a pick of the unit and give me your thoughts and price paid?
Thanks

Pictures are here:

http://marshallradio.com/hound/hproducts_receivers.asp

The price is always the same (see same website) I've never seen where Marshall ever discounted them.. fwiw..

They flat work. As good or better then all the others I've tried (Wildlife, Quicktrack, Icom, Tracker, F&L)

Thats my .02.. oh. .and I've been using a Marshall receiver for 6 years now... and I hunt in pretty rough country.. I'm sure others hunt in worse but it aint no parking lot where I hunt.. ;)

A couple of things after looking at their website...

$1,495.00 for a Stealth model? Holy ****, I hope the box flies down the canyon and leads your dog back out for that kind of money. ;)

Frankly Steve, I'm a bit surprised at you for using a Marshall. Considering that two of the Head honchos at this outfit are graduates of Utah State and the President is a BYU grad.

Talk about three good reasons for me NOT to own a Marshall. ;)

I graduated from Utah State and my brothers all graduated from BYU so the odds of these boxes being able to track a dog sitting in the back of your truck have to be slim at best!!! :)

All I can figure is you guys carrying Marshall's around have never been to either Utah State or BYU. ;)

Having been to both, I think I'll stick with the Wildlife and sleep just fine at night. ;)

(Like I could afford a Marshall Stealth anyway. I ain't about to pay for a box that costs what my total net worth is)

LOL Dawg !

Dude.. the bar is set pretty low considering I'm sitting here at NMSU ! We're lucky if we can figure out how to boil water.... a tracking box seems like it ought to be a cake walk for any "real" university grad.

And I'm not wealthy enough to own a Stealth.. I just have the rudimentary Field Marshall... same basic technology.. although the stealth is just a tick more sensitive then the field model...

The whole thing seems a bit suspect to me, since there appear to be multiple Aggies involved. But I got REAL suspicious to find out the head guy was a Cougar. No Aggies I ever met up there would every knowingly associate with a Cougar... of course all I did was hang out in the bars. I never really made it to the campus much. ;)

I really liked the looks of them, so maybe someday when my ship comes in. I can just see the look on my wife's face when I tell her I'm going to drop $1,500 on a tracking box. :D

But for now I'll just stick with my old run down grade dogs and my hunk of junk Wildlife, and I'll do my best to keep up with the local legends.

Besides, we have to think about the game. Can you imagine me with a high dollar Stealth in my hands and a pack of purple ribbon registered powerhouses in my box? Hell sakes dude, the poor bears and lions wouldn't stand a chance.

So I'm just thinking of the critters. Not sure the local game populations could sustain me getting my hands on that kind of power. ;)

Hey Pacojack,

Is that 6 wheeler still running for your buddy Paul?

Did he ever draw a bear tag? I can't see the lists anymore but seems like he was about due to draw a bear tag. ??

They have a new reciever coming in Sept check it out the Feild Marshall 1000 for under $900. http://www.marshallradio.com/
Brent as far as I know he loves it , he had to put about a $1000 into it the axles were messed up or something. He didn't draw a bear tag he drew a lion last year but he didnt' shoot one he says he just puts in to save a cat from dieing.lol Anyway jump all over that new feild marshall , it is a killer price and you wont have to spend 20 min( set up time)every time you want to track a dog like with that hunk of $hit blue box you use
I have 9 bonus points and I cant draw a tag to save my A$$.
Anyway I will sit back and listen to Black&TanMan1 tell us all how the mormons are invading the earth

There is always something messed up on those 6 wheelers but when they are running they are pretty sweet machines. I've seen my buddy take his older piece of junk 6 wheeler in places and watched brand new 4 wheelers try to follow him and couldn't. They are sweet machines, but really high maintenance suckers.

Hell dude, I don't actually track with my box. I just wait until Tony gets his out and does the tracking. I just act like I'm taking a leak until he gets them located. :)

That's why I started hunting with Tony. Hunted with another guy and his box never worked so he was always wanting me to track the dogs. I had to get rid of him, that **** doesn't fly. ;)

Get ya some blueticks dude and you won't need to track those white dogs running elk all day. Lots easier to recover them under a tree. ;)

I knew Paul had a lion tag, and he said he was going to flush it. 9 bonus points for bear and you can't draw? Where the hell are you putting in, Kodiak Island?

By the way, not sure why I keep bringing up blueticks since I have eight dogs and only three of them are blue... and I was thinking you had walker dogs but not really sure. :D Maybe you're an airedale guy, I forget.

But I couldn't stand by and let you bash my Wildlife box. That TRX 1000 is like a member of our family, eats supper with us and watches Hanna Montana with the girls and is quite the practical joker. So I couldn't have you trashing on 'ol Rex. (That's my boxes name)... ;)

Marshall did it agian you can now order a Feild Marshall 4000. 4 freqs with a 1000 channels on each and 100 pounds lighter than your trx 1000 and takes 3 hours less to set up :P and cheaper than a trx 1000.
Whoops Marshall just blew wildlife away today
Anyway Me and Tony go back about a hundred years and I knew him when he was a die hard B&T man( 20 plus years ago) now he is in blueticks I tease him and tell him one more upgrade and he will have a walker, But even if he gets a Airedale he will be a step above a B&T
