horse out if shape bad

I've been working a lot of hours lately and my horse out of shape bad besides riding him is there anythin is there anything I can do to getting back into shape fast. less than 2 mile and he was just dripping in sweat is there any exercise I can do

try feeding bluegrass straw or timothy no alfalfa or grain unless hes working hard an earning his keep. next thing horses can sweat more if theryr nervous. ive rode lots that are fine in a pen but when they go out side its a little nerve racking. and ride the hills and make him work day in and day out. hope this helps.

Thanks for the info I didn't know that about nerves. All I feed is grass hay blue timothy orchard mix
