6-10-08 hunt

Post by broncobilly »

Well, I got one, his feet didn't look big enough to have been making the tracks that I have been seeing, but the dogs started him from where I have been haveing problems with a hog tearing up my drip system. I'll know in a few days if I got the right one.

I turned out a little before 5, got on him immediately, ran him about a mile, maybe a mile and a half, running fight the whole way, and had him skinned and cleaned and hanging in the shop by 8. All in all a pretty good day, except that I didn't get any good action pics.

Here is an after action pic.

It would appear that I got the right one, anyway the destruction has stopped.

Broncobilly,

I realy do like seeing all your posts, just don't have a lot to add since we don't have hogs here. Sorta happy we don't... those things look nasty!

Once in a while a Javalina gets in under my fence and those little things can do plenty of damage to the orchard. They are only 40-50lbs so I can only imagine what a hog 3-5 times that size would do both to the orchard and my dogs. So do keep posting! Just cause folks are not commenting don't mean we are not enjoying the posts... just means we are lazy

Saw on waycool's board that you only have dialup... ouch. We went to wildblue and it made a world of differance. Cost is a bit more and there is the initial start up costs, but it was well worth it. One word of warning you will lose signal on heavy storm days... too much water in the sky will block the signal, not realy an issue where I live...
