Good video what kind of camera are you using?

The camera is just a small JVC Everio HD. One of the cheaper small cameras, the video quality for the price is decent, but the format it records in is a pain as most editing programs don't recognize it. I'd love to have a $2000 camera to pack around but I don't see that in my budget anytime soon. I've also been messing with putting a gopro on a dog, hopefully in the future I'll have some video put together from that.
