????Does UKC help in bear Referendums????
With Maine being under attack by HSUS and wanting to take away hound hunting as one of the three bear hunting methods in Maine, I was wondering if UKC helps in the fight? I know we spend alot of money registering hounds and litters and was wondering? I would think they would with all the hounds registered in the state and clubs being supported with help from bear hunters.....If not, why wouldnt they????? They have support from every hound hunter in the US and we all need to stick together? any feed back would be great.....Thanks.......

I don't know if they would but should. Along with dog food companies and everything else hound related. Good luck up there. Hate to see dog hunting under attack anywhere. Deer dog hunting has been under attack here in the south for a while. Not by antis but by hunters who don't want dogs in the woods. If it wasn't for our strong membership of the Mississippi hunting dog association we would be in trouble. Law makers look at numbers and votes when they make a decision on something.

I'm probably gonna open up a can of worms but gonna call them today and try to talk with field operations and try and get some answers....I'm the president of two different clubs in Maine one UKC and one not and am also a UKC bench show judge and see first hand what money they generate. I also know the folks that wont support them if they dont support us....All those papers are no good to anyone if we all start loosing our sports.....HSUS has been bad mouthing UKC in interviews saying they are a group that mis -handles dog/bear events and still no response from UKC.....Was hoping to see them get involved and see what we're all dealing with.....I've talked with countless number of folks that say if they dont get involved they'll never go to another event or register another dog with them again...before I say too much I wanna talk with them first hand.....and see if they do actually do anything now.....
when ya register a dog with them they always had paperwork that had care of hound and what they expect from hound owners as well as wordage to keep things legit.....hopefully we can expect something from them.......
