I have 2 plot hounds that are 1 year old and I hunt coons with them and I want to start hunting lions with them. I read the cat training article but I want to know if its hard to train a dog that has hunted coons all their life and go to cats?

It's not hard if the dog likes a cat. Some strains like a cat and some don't. Put them on a cat track and see. I have a black and tan that was a nite champion coon dog that fell in love with a lion and she will not even run a coon now.

alright thanks. when I start them on a lion track do I just let them do it on there own or guide them until they are basically dragging my with them when there on a leash
