Is the weather in October generally good for dry ground hunting? I know it can vary, but October compared to other times of the year..is it a good time of year for scent sticking around?

Like you said it can vary, and I think the question is too difficult to ask without knowing at least what region/state your discussing. 60 miles in one direction could change the scenting conditions so much.

just got 4 inches of snow in Newcastle wy wich im guessing is close to where your planning a hunt
