male or female ?

Post by mulesNdawgs »

which ones seems to by more aggressive males or females? I have a walker female and black and tan female that are excellent hunters runs good and fast will catch bears lions or coon sometimes the neighbors cat. I have had few males to walker male that wouldn't run at all and I have a black and tan male that wont run and a plot male that's starts good for about 150 yards then comes back new to this and just cant seem to figure. been thinking of getting a walker male again and trying it. both of my females are a 1yr old and the males are right around the same age. confused !!!!!!!!! any insight would be appreciated

for years,i only kept females because they seemed easier to train to me. now I have both and I don't see a difference between male or female as far as grit or training. just depends on the dog as far as grit. jmo
no mater if you think you can or you think you cant,, you are probably rite.

Sex really has nothing to do with a dog being good or bad but generally speaking i would say males are more aggressive .Guys with those good females might disagree with my opinion though.Good dogs come in all breeds and both sexes as do the culls .Great dogs and sorry dogs can and often do come in the same litter. Before buying a pup find out all you can about the parents and their bloodlines .This can and probably will save you a lot of time and disappointment .

Females are usually more affectionate, learn faster than males, are easier to break than males. You have less dominance issues with females.

That said most hunters when they talk about the best dog they ever owned,it is almost always a male. An early starting pup, that will make a 5 mile race and tree at 6 month is very impressive to me however I am a lot more interested in seeing what that pup does at age 5, will it outrun, out catch anything out there are will it be just another pack dog.
