From what I have found, if you start a hound with silant dogs, they in turn will run silant, now the Plott seem's to be the one that will keep it quite, Walkers and other english type hounds seem to run silant untill they figure out they can bark. Most all my Plott's run track silant, I have one or two that will open about every 5 min or so after they start to warm the track up, but I have a Walker dog that does the same thing, they are semi- open. But if you run one of these hounds with an open dog, they will start to open to. I have one Plott female that will run a hog silant, and then she will turn around and run a bear wide open, so I think once they get older they learn when to open and when to shut up and flat Catch. Thats just what I have found. I shiped Seman over there to Aus from my #1 Plott dog a few years ago but I think they were gonna cross that Blood into a Catahoula cross.
