Good news
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.

Re: NEW MEXICO COUGAR NEWS
I am glad to hear that this did not pass.
One issue that does prevent proper game management across the USA is private property and leasing. If you have a few hundred thousand acres tied up for outfitting, you will not put a dent in any population. Its sad, but true. Or a whole front of small land owners making "sanctuaries" for wildlife.
In most states the wildlife belongs to the people, but property rights allow for maximum profits on some species. We all pay for wildlife management in several ways, but not everyone can utilize all the benefits without paying more for access. It would be great if there was a happy medium, yet I do not see that happening.
Hope I didn't get off topic. Politics are frustrating!

Mike Leonard - or anyone else...
What is going on with this bill, I thought it was killed on the 9th but I don't see a record on that on the NM legislative website.
Does someone know for sure what is going on.
It's a bad idea on many accounts, really all it does is pave a way for an injunction (that may be impossible to reverse) to easily be placed that bans lion hunting in the state altogether.
