noble game

I won't bad mouth lions as game animals in general they win more then I do. But its nice to know the good lord puts us all on a level playing field once in awhile. This morning I was exercising some pups and by pups I mean little guys . I'm expecting the post office to call as we have a chick order due to be delivered. So I'm staying close to the house. But anyway I let these guys out with a older litter mate sister and we start going from dirt tank to dirt tank . The female starts getting gamey so I get my buzzer finger ready . We get down into the tank and I see the usual deer ,javalina tracks and am waiting for her to open so I can buzz her. Well one of the male pups let's out a boohooo bugger bark and comes backing out of the brush stiff legged . He's seen the dog eat in wasthat for sure so I hurry over to make sure its not hungry what ever it is. And there in the dirt is a lion track and further in a little bit of fur. Well they are all walking on egg shells now . Female is casting around and bawling. I figure never second guess gifts and start following along encouraging them pups. We had gone two hundred yards and there's a lion peeking over some rocks. He wasn't sure he wanted to cross that bare hill and hadn't decided he really needed to either. I decided that sometimes god just builds a retarded lion to make some of us feel better..

That's the kind of lion I like to run into in this heat I sure hope it rains next week like they are predicting!
