Hunting rigs

What do you all out west run for rigs? I have a 2004 cc dually 6.0 ford that I'm going to put a flatbed on an convert to srw an a 1983 Toyota custom cab 4x4 not sure which would be better suited to head west with.

Toyota.......with chains you can go bout anywhere. Not sure where out west but I'm in wyoming and we hunt snow mainly. Dually isn't worth a shit in the snow, and a dually would be big to be getting around in the tight nasty stuff. Besides that it's a ford

When I was a kid lived outside Reno Nevada an those roads were too narrow for my full sized pickup. The Toyota is what I plan on setting up for hunting out of. Love my Toyotas have had several of them an they have never let me down. Got some things to get done to it yet but I think it will work out ok.

Depending on what property we are hunting and what the conditions are, I use a Tundra to haul everything around. Quads on tires are by far the easiest and quickest to get around. Tracked quads will go anywhere but are slow. Snowmobiles are the last choice but we do use them occasionally. I hunt every week all winter so you have to have a variety of options in this rough country.

I thought about using my f350 to get out there then use my kawasaki mule to get about once I get to tract of land to hunt. It's not spend demon but it does pretty good.

I agree on the atv/utv to really cover some ground fast and when it's real nasty. I run a 15 gmc diesel for long trips due to a little more comfort, shorter closer to home I run my 94 Nissan which gets around great and don't bother me when I trim trees with the rig.

How the heck do you even fit in a 94 Nissan? Do you poke your head up through the sunroof?

I would prefer to drive my 1ton out west than the Toyota lot more comfort. I can always pull a trailer to haul the utv it's a long drive from North Central indiana to any where out west where there's a shot at treeing a lion.

I agree with Dean - need to have multiple options for conditions. One day its a tracked argo then the next day a tired 4wheeler is fine. Iv'e been pretty lucky with a flatbed dually GMC but I've also been pretty stuck - seems like even with multiple options you always seem to have the wrong transportation and for that reason I've been pounding it out on foot the last couple years. Good way to keep the thanksgiving and christmas weight off.
