Chest Harness
Chest Harness
Looking for a chest harness that I could attach my Alpha an pistol to. I've looked at some online made for attaching radios an gps. Just haven't found anything to my liking. If any body has any links I should check out let me know.

Re: Chest Harness
There was a company in wisconsin that was making them, I don't remember who it was they were at the convention about two years ago.

Re: Chest Harness
I will keep searching around the worst part is that my pistol being a Ruger single six hunter with the scope and I attach a kill right to the scope for coon kill season makes it a pain to pack around. I was hoping to find something to attach the essentials to my chest and still be able to wear a pack.

I can't find a picture of the exact Umpqua swiftwater vest that I have, but they make an amazing product in my opinion. Mine has two pockets that are exactly the size of the Garmin. I am not sure if it meets all your requirements, but it more than meets mine. There is a companion back pack that I have not tried. But I love having everything in the front where I can get at it. The padded belt is mandatory for re-distributing weight. The only thing I would add is belt loops for it to pass through on the lower part of the front pack.
This is made for professional level fly fishermen, and if you can get past the price, I think you would enjoy the quality. There is room for tree ties and survival essentials also. Grab it and go!

I like that pack but my dilemma is there do I put my handgun it would be so bulky if I didn't alhave the scope and a kill lite on top of it. I like have everything on your chest easy to get to.

Re: Chest Harness
Is there a reason you can't keep the single 6 in your pack? I have an old Singer 15-91 sewing machine. Can sew webbing or leather and design what you want. I put a pocket for my Alpha with a place for antenna that misses my pack straps. No ,I'm not good with it but is functioning well.
Re: Chest Harness
The only reason is convenience is all an I have though of just going with it in,the package I would just just have to shed the pack to get it out is all. My only reasoning for this route is the public places I coon hunt is a lot of walking an when I skin the coon I want to put them on the pack. I also thought it would make a nice set up for hunting out west when an if I ever make it west to chase cats and bears.
