Here is a cross I am planning on making this fall. There are lots of excellent Clover hounds out there today but very few that still show old Bozo in there 3 generations.

That looks fantastic on paper.. You keeping the whole litter? Just curious because I do not need any more dogs LOL... I am hoping Betty turns out nice so I can cross her back on a Bozo bred dog

Watched the 1991 World Series coonhunt tonight. Saw a daughter of Bozo (so they said) on there and also Minkler's Kansas Dancer who placed 3rd.. I thought it was kinda neat.. They kept talking about Minkler's dog that he calls Dancer and it finally dawned on me

If the litter ever hits the ground it will more then likely get split up between me and a few of my buddies like Paco, Alfalfa and Lightning.

As for Bouncing Betty, you have more Bozo in her then you think. She is doubled up on Stone Mtn Steel who is out of Bozo. See Roadblock and my Sis female were littermates. Also Bubba was out of Wildcard who is out of Casey who goes back to Bozo :wink:

I have the perfect male for her. Bettys grand daddy is Bubba and I have Bubbas brother Clyde. Buster was born here at my place out of Bubba and my old Sis hound. Clyde did an awesome job for me this past spring in idaho thanks to my buddy Corey.

Nick is really really excited about her and he doesn't get excited about pups.. I am not going to push her real hard this cat season unless she says she can handle it...

With 3 litters all hitting the gorund and be delivered all by one person I know everyone got the right pup just did not remember which pups went to who without going back to the records

Looks good Spanky! I like the way you are crossing them and it is along with the method called static terminal sire which has been very successful and regarded for a long time. Also I think you have a great idea in placing these pups with hunters you know so you can track the progress of the whole litter.Good luck with all of them and I am sure many hunters are going to thank you for keeping old Bozo's blood going.

thanks Mike and I appreciate your thoughts on this.

Like every breeding there are no 100% sure fire solutions but at least if we continue to breed proven parents of similar likenesses and what we know that works for us then it can only better our chances, all trial and error :wink:
