Most active movement?

I hunt the same roads the day after a snowfall,the same way, the same time. I have counted as many as thirty rabbit tracks one day and as little as one the next week. The number of bobcat tracks is usually related to the number of rabbits I see.
I'm not seeing a pattern in weather compared to movement, except between or before a storm.
When I hunted in Africa the trackers could predict game movement.
I know there has to be more?
Any thoughts!
