Re: Moving to layton area

IT's for real. I talked to my new boss up there today. I will mostlikely go up there for a week early may and look for a house. If anyone knows of a place with a little bit of room for hounds please tell me or even if you know a good area to look. Thanks

Moving to layton area

I'll be new to the area moving in May or June. I'm looking for advice on housing locations. I have 5 dogs.

Thanks for any help.

Rhodesian Ridgeback as big game hound

Has anyone used a Rhodesian Ridgeback as a big game hound and had any success? I've been debating giving one a try in my pack and looking for any info.

THanks

Re: Grawe's bear scent.

I was training younger pups but in New Mexico there is no chase season so I tried it out to make good of the summer months before season opens. I have had good luck with the lion scent with dongs that have seen live game. I don't know

Re: hot weather dog box??? steel tubing??

I used 3/4 square tubing with hog fencing so it's light but easily weldable. I used plywood top and the bottom was my truck bed. I always like leaving a foot between the box and cab of my truck to store stuff. It works here in NM. Send me a pm and I can send you picks of it.

Grawe's bear scent.

I tried using the bear scent this year and my dog would not strike, push or work it at all. I know they could smell it but would not bark even once. One of my buddies tried a bottle and had the same problem. I have good bear dogs he has great and both of us ended up with nothing. I've used the lion ...

Re: Dimond Dog Food

I used it for years when I was in Idaho. Worked great for my dogs and a good price. I didn't switch during the off season just used the High energy. Wish is could find it in New Mexico.

I used diamond when I lived in Idaho. It worked but now I'm in New Mexico and I switched to Exceed 30% protein 16% fat. It works great

Re: Garmin DC40

i heard that the dc 40 will be available in august but it will be a limited supply until december. the only difference that i know with the dc 40 is that you can set a pin code for your dog so that nobody else can track your dog. i currently have the dc 30 and it works great unless you hunt public ...

Re: how much exersize?

Great question. Thanks for all the info. I run mine 3 to 4 times a week about 3-5 miles. After all the input I will step it up a notch. I got a new B & T and he is out of shape so it will do him some good.

New in new mexico

How's everyone doing. I'm restarting here in NM. hunted for a little while in Idaho but still consider myself a rookie to the sport. I'm here to learn and get information.
