I have always carried a Marlin .44mag Lever action saddle Gun complete with sling to make hauling it around easier and then a Ruger .44 mag pistol (western 6 shooter made before the Black Hawk type I think they call them Single Six?) that way I only have to carry one type of Cartridge.

Some of our most memorable and exciting races have come during Running season ....we don't always see a Cat in a tree but we sure have fun trying to get it up there.

We just recently lost our old Male (to old age) and it didn't seem to make any difference to him what the weather conditions were ...

While reading on another post the question was raised as to year round seasons.
I was wondering how many Cat Hunters out there besides us run their hounds year round (where it is legal of course).

I agree with Mr.Mike, 100% on this one... There is NO substitute for the real thing and too much "Set Up" training is never a good thing.

As to the scent ? in my limited experiance you can get the every so often dog that will excell in running both lions and stubbies but sadly they are rare as hens ...
