Yeah, we free cast. Also dump on them when spotted. I run Goodmans which is a strain of Walker. We occasionally get snow. I’m just trying to get them deer broke which is really hard right now to do.

Yes I always shock them if I actually see them run a deer. I shock them but eventually they’ll get right back on one.

Shock collar deer breaking
I have 1 and 3 year old coyote hound. They aren’t deer broke. I use the collar but at that age how hard should I be hitting them with the shock. I have an alpha.

I know this is a topic that’s talked about a lot but I got some young dogs and was wondering what you all do to break them from running deer. I know people use training collars but not sure what age to start using them on them. 1 year old runs a l out of deer and 3 year old hits once in awhile one ...
