Re: harvest objective bear in UTAH

I cant see a H.O. working for the benefit of houndsmen. Yes it does work in other states if your wanting to kill bears. If your wanting to train dogs thats not the case. Utah would have to be one of the best states as far as being able to run our dogs nearly year round. Idaho is an exception but ...

Re: Runs to catch.

I heard someone make the comment "This is a catch dog". Which I am guessing that is kinda what you mean by runs to catch. I didnt understand this comment for sure until I owned a dog that I considered fit that discription. My Dad picked up a 2 year old walker coon hound from the dog trader that was ...

Re: Utah Bear Changes for 2010

Kevin,
As far as I am aware the pursuit restrictions are only for the summer hunts, check out the dates posted above. (FOR NOW) If you happen to draw a bear tag you will still have to buy an over the counter pursuit permit for the spring or fall hunts. There is no open pursuit during the fall hunts ...

Re: Condolences To the Greg Anderson Family

I have known Greg Anderson since I was ten years old. There are some really good memories that I will have about Greg, but the best memories of Greg will be of a young wild man that would go out of his way to come pick up a young kid to go train puppies. Whenever Greg would get a little wild and ...

Re: Local Famous Dogs

I have been racking my brain trying to decide which and who had the the most famous dog that I knew about. After reading some of the other replys, it sounds like there are some really good dogs and good handlers out there, but I still could not decide on which dog I thought was the most famous. I ...

Re: full moon

The coon hunting here in Vernal Utah is generally always pretty slow. Where we do most of our coon hunting is on a big river bottom in the middle of a desert. My dad hunted coons faithfully every other night for two years straight and kept a journul on how the hunts went. He found that on a no moon ...
