Re: PBR/Rodeo Fans

I love watching PBR BFT series.
Like Strawberry Mt, I like watching the bulls and who is breeding what bloodlines and such. I guess that comes from sitting with Gene Smith and listening to him talk bloodlines. Some of the bulls that have been on tour, my brothers and I bucked out as 2 year olds at ...

Re: hello from southeastern washington

Welcome Mofo,
Those are some great looking pups. What are they out of? Who's breeding?

Good luck on your new venture.

When a door closes, somewhere a window opens.
I know it's hard now, and I can only imagine how hard, but in time maybe one of your young dogs will now have a chance to really shine.
Spend all the energy you can helping your family with the Mother in Law, and when you need some therapy..... go ...

Re: Hey from the four corners!

What a terrific story.
Being fairly new to hound hunting myself, and still feeling like there is SOooo much still to learn, I wish I had someone as experienced as Mike to show me the ropes. Soak in the wealth of knowledge. Mike is rich with knowledge.

Re: Johnson 'long range' collars........

If I remember correctly, Gary repaired the switch that wouldn't shut off for free, but still charged for the battery replacement. We could have hunted it without replacing the battery and just used up what was left, but when you have no idea how much battery is left, and it is at the shop anyway ...

Re: Battery life of Johnson collars

Keep in mind that if you are running a tree switch in your collars that it could influence how long your batteries last. Every time the tree switch is activated, your collar is sending twice as many beeps out.
If you have dogs that you can call treed when they are with in hearing, then the tree ...

Re: Johnson 'long range' collars........

My brother and I have, and have had several of the West Coast collars in the short time we have owned hounds. I have hunted hounds only six or seven years now, and I decided about three years ago I was done buying the WCT collars. We were always having trouble with switches and such. Collars that ...

Re: Best food for the money?

I have fed the Black Gold, and it was wonderful. I got it a pallet at a time and was able to mix and match what was on the pallet. But compared to what I feed now, it was a little spendy. Best food for the price tho, at THAT price. It was a good food, and buying it by the pallet I was able to get it ...

Re: Champaine Meat Diet.....

I have tried feeding it frozen and the dogs love it, and it keeps em quiet ALL day while they naw on it.
This week, with tempatures near Zero, I have been letting a ten pound bag thaw out in the garage and feed it mixed with dry dog food. I just don't want the dogs having cold food in their belly ...

Champaine Meat Diet.....

Is anyone else feeding the Champaine Sled Dog meat diet????

I was looking into feeding Mink Food to my dogs as not only a cheaper alternative to dry dog food, but also for healthier dogs. After talking to one of the mink farmers he suggested looking into the Sled Dog food.

The nutrition in these ...

Re: Wood dog box?

What part of Washington are you in? You may be close enough to take a look at it in person.

I think you are right. I think I used 3/8 sides and back and 1/2 in top and bottom.

Something I left out. Draw it out so you have minimum waste. Make it like 4x4 top and bottom or there's abouts and 2' x 4 ...

Re: Wood dog box?

I like the Line X idea. It would really make a box last a loooong time. I have tried doing some fiberglass on the top and stress points to make it last longer.

Things to think about when building a box:
My doors are small, and high on the box. When dogs are striking all the dogs will charge the ...

Re: some one turn the pups loose lol

Ryan,

Been hunting pretty hard out at the lake where you and I hunted while you were here. It has been tough. Coons are sparse at best. I made a few trees now and then, mite have been lay up or den trees, but I couldn't find eyes up there. Not making excuses for my dogs at all, but they don't have ...

Re: some one turn the pups loose lol

Gotta love it when you find a little masked bandit on your own property eh Ryan?

Wouldn't be such a big deal if we had coon like they do over east, but we only find a few every now and then 'round here.

Hope all is well.
