You really don't ever want to put water all over a heat stroked dog it can throw them into shock and kill them we always carry some rubbing alcohol with us on hot days pour it on the pads of their feet and rub inside the flaps of their ears it will cool them off with out throwing them into shock as ...

What you say is sad but true! The chip we have states it blm road such and such(I cant remember the numbers it said) and it has three hippie trailers up it it just sucks we pay so much money to have these roads built then the decide the dont want to maintain them so they throw a gate up on them or ...

I agree with alot of points that jkohnke makes.But To me I think the gps makes it a "fairer" you can use the gps to get to the treed/bayed up animal quicker and ends their stress wither it be to take your hounds off or kill. And also should things go wrong you can get to your dogs a whole helluva ...

We're down by grants pass my husband is 3rd gen houndsmen and me I got thrown into it by meeting him then fell in love with him and the dogs lol we run a pack of mutts got a little bit of everything

The best thing to do is go to your vet. And I say this not because your vet needs your help paying for his next vacation lol but because the ones you buy over the counter will only treat certain ones but the kind your vet has treats a wide spectrum so your not doing the whole trial by error

We're more south west part of Oregon but we love ours..they do have there issues and lose signalsometimes but it would be VERY hard for us to go back to just the beep box we always run our dogs with both and I tell people to do the same we like to have the loyal back up if needed. Have had gps ...

Never seen that mix but the houndsmen I know tend to shy away from bloodhounds. Due to there lack of speed.. not to say your gonna have a slow dog I beleave the breed doesn't really matters it all comes dog to the individual dog...good luck
