Re: New from Bama

Hi Curr'n plott man welcome to BGH. CasB has curs and plotts here in Pennsylvania. I believe he has some pocohontas plotts (me I can't spell pocohontas so I wouldn't go that route. :) )He's always looking to talk hounds when it comes to Curs and Plotts. Right now he's got a good plott that runs bobs...

Re: New guy here

Welcome to BGH! the black and tans I've been around have been fine hounds but they sure do slobber bunches and at the end of a long day- after a good showing- and thier dog tired they sure do appear more tired than other hounds with thier big frame just a saggin. I couldn't watch them on the hike ou...

Jgagne, if that line had worked on women in my twenties I'd probably remember would still know enough French to help Buddy now. Now I aspire to be a Coureur des Bois..... Paul

Re: Meat dog or specialized hounds?

Redwood,Donb, I see your points of view, but in my exerpience [u]many (not all)u] of folks that i've encountered that have a hound or talk up a hound that runs everything are lazy houndsman. I listen, am polite, but the whole time I'm thinking some folks just don't want to take the time to properly ...

Re: pups born outside?

I had a litter in November once in an unheated, unisulated, openings between the wall boards garage. I built an 8x4x4 plywood shelter around the whelping box inside the garage and heated it with a heat lamp- got that sucker pretty warm. All 8 pups made it with no problems. probably overkill, but it ...

J'aime appel Paul, Monsouir Buddy. Voulez vous avec couche Moir? (not said to you, but your cute neighbor or a nice young lady you meet at the library) and the ever popular, Parlez vous Francais? That's about all I recall, unfortunately. good luck Buddy, Paul Conway

Re: hey everyone

welcome to BGH and good luck with your pups. Sometimes two pups isn't double the work of one- it's increases by a factor of 3 or 4 or more the work and the time. Doesn't seem like it should and sometimes it doesn't, but by and by it seems like it is. Sounds like you have a good offer there from hunt...

Re: Who's Planning to Attend the Mountain Lion Workshop in M

Brett, thanks for posting this. PChaser, I think it's great that you have an interest in attending. We need more younger houndsman, not only participating in our sport but taking an active, postive interest in it from participating in the discussions on this board with houndsman that have been aroun...

Re: Noteworthy Biggame Houndsmen

My feeling is if it hasn't been told yet, has been told but you have slightly different angle, etc, tell it. I think you need to mix the folks that have a bit of a name in with the folks who fly under the radar, but are none the less pretty accomplished with an interesting story to tell to give it s...
