Re: Garmin astro 320

I really like mine, although it seems to go through batteries like a kid with candy. Anyone else finding this?

Sweet Tom

After some much needed new snow over the weekend a couple of very good guys and myself found a fresh track to turn loose on. The dogs did an outstanding job running it and it ended picture perfect. One of those days that will be branded in my brain for ever. These kind of hunts is what keeps us ...

Re: Getting pilgrims lions.....

X 2, preach it. fuel and dogs and dog food and time in the woods and ....... if they want to kill a lion they can spend the money, time and effort to do it. Leave the little ones and baby maker lions to grow and chase another day

Re: Snowmobile help

If you can find an air cooled sled they are great. I have one of both, a polaris indy 440 air cooled and a skidoo 800 liquid with longtrack 2 1/2" paddles. For deep powder and pulling hard hills where there is no track already established the 800 is great. For any spots the snow is hard packed or ...

Re: learn to shoe horses

Our local college has a equine course, once a year the instructor from this course puts on a three day, 8-10 hours per day crash course on shoeing. He teachs from start to finish shoeing your own horse. By no means is this 25ish hours of crash course enough to go out and start making a living at it ...

Re: idaho wolves

I was in Idaho on a moose hunt a couple weeks ago and was shocked at the amount of wolves. Everywhere they could leave a track there were tracks. I seen a couple, one from the truck and one from the trail riding my horse. If you decide to go and need an area let me know, there was not a shortage ...

kids first bear

I'm jealous of all you guys being able to chase bears, here in Montana we can't. But we can shoot them without dogs, none the less here is my 12 year old kids first big game animal he ever killed from over the weekend. 314 pounds dresses out.

Re: tri-tronics bark limiter

I have used bark collars on my dogs in their kennel consistantly. At times i have left them on the dogs for a week or two. They dont bark much around the house, unless they can smell a bear or cat, then they will bark right through the collar... I dont think it effects them on the trail or in any ...

Re: Kids and horses

One thing to keep in mind, if you plan on riding a full size horse and you buy a POA or real small horse for your kids it will be a problem. I have been there. When you get out on the trail your horse will go its speed and the POA will end up walk/trot/walk/trot to keep up. It makes for a miserable ...

Re: dc30 and dc40 at the same time

The two dc30's I am currently using work great although I dont know what to compare them to, never had anything else. Is spending the extra money on dc40's worth the extra money and is there an advantage? I dont care about the code security function, although the 2 minute function for longer battery ...

dc30 and dc40 at the same time

I have an astro with two dc30 collars. I want to add two more collars. Can I add two dc40's and use them with the two dc30's i currently have for a total of four collars? Will that combination work ok in the field? You all that are using both these collars, if I can mix them would you recomend ...
