Hi Tessa, I just finished reading through the thread and just wanted to say thanks for recording and sharing your experiences. I am working on raising a pup without a trainer and this thread has really helped me be more positive about what I have to look forward too. Right now my pup is almost 4 months and just started blowing up the cat tower. I'm just letting him be a pup and spending as much time wandering and walking in the woods as possible.

Looking forward to hearing more about you and Bella. cheers.

Shoulda filmed the deer race she was on yesterday. Boy that dog doesntr want to quit! Didn't have the shock collar on tight enough and she was out of range fast. I started to panic a little when she was out of hearing range in the canyons. Called here and didnt hear anything for an hour and was starting to worry. We do have wolves around on the occassion. I don't have a tracking collar for her so all I could do was wait and call for her. I finally heard the ringing of her bell. I don't care what anyone says whether they work to keep wolves away or not, I like having them on when you don't have a tracking system. Won't help much though if the dog is not moving. She is going to make a fime hound, but now it is time to burn her off the deer.
