I have seen those big blues coming out that don't have the drive to trail like we expect them to. I believe they have the ability but they don't use it as frequently as in the past. that is a huge fault. the other faults I've run into more often then you should is lack of bottom and tree happy dogs. I know there are still hounds out there that are good representatives of what we expect of the blue dogs but x breeding has weakened all the breeds by loosing those animals worth breeding. but each breed has it's popularity and quality swing up and down through time. just to stir the pot I think right now out of the purebreds the english our the most consistently well balanced hounds from their top lines.
