Biggamehunter. Thanks. On the bears pictured, If I get the order correct the first bear was Brace Hammer and Rage. All three are litter mates but I sold rage to a buddie and was hunting her for him. A couple other dogs were put out but got on another bear. The second bear was treed By Rage, and Brodie (the same buddies dogs) and My 4 dogs Brace Hammer, Mattie and Knight. The funny thing about that one was we were cleaning up the dogs from a bear we had treed earlier in the day. Since we were headed home and it was late afternoon we were simply tossing dogs into the back of the truck but had not clipped any in or put any in the box. We had just 1 dog left to find so We went up the raod to look for it and the truck with the dogs went down. about 10 minutes Later, the truck comes back with NO DOGS. the driver was our hunter and he had this sheepish look on his face. He was driving down the road and the dogs struck pretty hard, so he got out to look for a track. next thing he knows dogs are streaming past him and the truck is empty.

Luckily they treed that one not to far up dry wash canyon and all the dogs were there so we still made it home in time for dinner.
The 3rd bear (the one with the ear tag and this was the second time I had treed her having treed her the week before with Mattie Brace and hammer)was treed by Mattie alone, while the other dogs were working a bear that kept jumping.
The second to last bear was just My 4 dogs With Mattie and Hammer cold trailing that bear for about an hour before they kicked it out, when I got to the tree, all 4 dogs were there but I don't know at what point the other 2 joined in.
The Last bear we only put down Hammer Rage and Knight to see how the young dogs did alone. Knight came off when it crossed the road (she is only a year)But Hammer and Rage bayed and held, then later treed the bear before we put any other dogs down. They are starting to click pretty good.
Houndawg I heard you guys had taken a real big bear. Congrats. 25 years old sounds like a Charlie story

, but I heard from several sources that it was a toad, so good job. Did it take you on a pretty good chase? We Took 2 big boars in the spring hunt but I have yet to see a "BIG" boar this fall hunt. To many small bears for the dogs to peal off onto.
