"If Eastman's are rough and tough tell them to come on out and I'll turn them loose behind my hounds.....I might have to tie a tow rope to their butts to keep up, but we probably have one of those as well. I have a few canyons around here I'd like to see them climb out of, no roads just need a good set of legs... Like I said, I can probably find a tow rope if they can't keep up on a fair chase hunt!"

Pretty big talk Ike... for a middle aged guy that sits at a computer all week and types on websites.

I sent this thread to a kid I know that does some free lance stuff for Eastman's from time to time and he read your big talk. He says he's got $3,000 bucks that says he can keep up step for step in any hell hole you want to drop into. And when you hit the truck if you aren't in his hip pocket, you better be ready to pony up $3K dude.

He's a young kid that spends tons of time scouting, shed hunting, etc... but you shouldn't have any problem walking him into the dirt, just like you bragged about.

He wants to know when and where and bring cash. He said you can leave the tow rope home, he ain't too worried. He also said he's going to send it along to some buddies of his at Eastman's and see if there are any other takers for your little challenge you threw down.

Time to put up or shut up dude. This kid is ready to roll whenever you say. After you get finished walking him into the dirt we'll see if any Eastman guys want a go at it. Send me your email and we'll set this deal up. If I can make it I think I'll tag along.

This kid has some experience following hounds, and some experience with deep holes, he said he ain't afraid. What'll it be amigo? A simple yes or no will suffice. Or a when and where. $3K... first guy from the bottom of the canyon to the truck takes it all.

He can do weekdays or weekends. Your call.

Somebody mentioned high school kids the other day and then directed it toward our behavior brent, and that kinda got my attention. I do thank you for mentioning the fact that I am middle-aged, matter fact, I'm probably old enough to be your father--but thank God I'm not.

You do put me in the mind of a kid though brent, I know this guy that knows this guy that has this or that or can do this or that--wow! Rather than sending one of those guys out, why don't you come on out and go for a hunt with old Ike. It won't cost you 3K or 2k cause ol' Ike will provide the truck, the gas, the dogs and the know how brent. I will, however, probably need to stop by IFA and buy one of those cattle prods cause you seem to be a little "trashy mouthed" and might need some correction. But don't worry about any of that cause ol' Ike can probably straighten you out pretty quick with one of those things.................

I was hoping you guys would take the idea and run with it. make it a real event take a whole line up of contestants and maybe lay a drag through there too, so we could have a hound race. add a wild horse race into extend the festivities n give everyone something to do while we,re waiting for the hunting seasons to start back up. make it into a old tome family picnic and dog trade days. just think of the lies and legends that would come from a weekend like that give all the youngsters a couple real life John Wayne type heroes to look up to. Could have a fiddle playen ice cream making good time! I say we put it to a vote!! hell then all the wives could see the didn't get stuck with the only dog crazy basterd out there.

I seen the show last night... i thought it was a little lame  the eastmans claim to be the biggest hunters around then go and pay my buddys to guide them everywhere they go. They are basically the biggest posers in the biz. Back to the show- i thought they made it look a little easy to tree a cat and they were small lions at that... it seemed like a cool hunt and i did enjoy seeing it but they should have stressed a little more on how the sport is about training your dogs and not just puttin up game left and right.

im too poor to bet but i was thinking we are going to bet on anything maybe we should measure our dicks and piss for distance! ROFLMAO

Dennis, I wasn't sending anyone out. Just saw you trash talking the Eastman guys and saying they were soft and could never keep up with you coming out of a canyon, just knew a guy who might be interested in that, and he was. He saw your big talk and was interested in seeing your walk... figured you'd want the chance to back up your talk on the mountain. I figured wrong.

I would think you of all people would give Eastman's a little credit. A couple of years ago you took a huge check from Fred, drove him around in your truck for a couple of hours each morning and never showed him a single lion. I would think you might give Eastman's some credit for showing multiple lions to a guy and killing one, no matter what size. Instead of just trash talking them about fair chase.

Fred said after he paid thousands of dollars to ride around in your truck and listen to you talk about how great your dogs were and got to see you run one lion off an elk kill, which they didn't catch. And that was it, that was his hunt. And at the end when he asked you if you had even caught a lion yet that entire winter, neither you or your buddy would answer him.

Seems like you should at least give Eastman's a little credit for catching some lions and trying to show a good hunt on TV, instead of running them down. You always like to say "the proof is in the pudding"... Bet this hunter has a different story to tell than Fred huh?

Whether the show was up to hound standards or not, I credit Eastman's for trying to show a sport that is controversial in the eyes of many. And when you are ready to back up your big talk about towing them all out of the canyon, there are a couple of Eastman guys waiting for you to "walk the walk..."

Sorry to cause trouble and be a juvenile guys. Just thought Dennis might want to back up his big talk and tow a couple of those Eastman guys up out of the canyon. But I'll take that reply as a No. Talk is cheap indeed.

I don't care how the show was, I credit them for trying and showing it on TV. I know others who have done it and took lots of heat. Kudos to Eastman's, even if a Hero has to drag them up out of the canyon with a tow rope.

I did not, and will not, see or watch the show that Eastman's put out on lion hunting. However, I did get an email saying that they invaded the local boys for a month with mulitple guides and shot a female lion and called it a tom on the show. I hope that wasn't true! If their presentation was done and showed lion hunting in a "good light", then kudos to them for attempting to show a little to others about our sport......

As many of you know, I've written over a hundred magazine articles with just that idea in mind. Articles thaty reached across to other hunters and the public as well in local newspapers. This was one of those articles: http://www.ingramwildlife.com/bear.htm and another
http://www.americanhoundsmen.com/scratchin.html

And well, I could scan up nearly a hundred of the pieces that I have written to promote hunting. I even served seven years on Utah's Division of Wildlife's RAC council and represented sportsmen, which is by far the most difficult group to represent. A couple years back I was offered (or was asked if I was interested in serving) another seat on RAC and told them to pass that opportunity along to someone else.......

So personally, I don't believe very many hunters have shared their time and resources any more generiously than ol Ike has.......but don't ever hold Eastman or anybody else up as people who care or people who have shared while implying that I haven't Brent. As you have probably figured out, I refuse to be any part of any organization that you belong to because you are such an asshole.......

As for my hunting ability, I don't now and never have taken a back seat to you... In my opinion brent, you haven't ever done anything other than stir up shit. I don't personally believe anything you say, nor do I believe that you have a serious bone in you.....

Have a nice day buddy
And if you want to continue this conversation come see me, as I'm easy to find and always ready to listen!

Thanks dude, I'll keep that in mind and I have to agree with you. With almost 2,000 posts on this site I'm pretty sure you'll be easy to find. If I'm come out for a visit your computer will be the first place I check.

If I ever decide to spend a day with the Joe Biden/Terrell Owens of hounding, you'll be the first guy I call amigo!!

But you might need to tow me up out of the canyon bud, cuz I'm a bit soft like the Eastman crew. And for the record, that Eastman guy backed out of the deal.

He read this site for a few minutes and said anybody that blows as much as you do must have the lungs of an elk and he figures you'd just talk him to death before he could make it out of the canyon. So he wants no part of you!

Stay outta trouble, I'll leave you to your disciples and your yarns. But don't let me down bud. A couple of us on here have a little wager going and I got my money on you hitting 3,000 posts before the end of the year. Don't let me down dude, I need the money!!

Away I went and that was that!! Over and out.

Once the dogs are turned loose they can end up anywhere. It may have been an easy hunt but I promise you that Montana is far from a walk in the park. Where the dogs end up is luck of the draw. I have traveled all over the USA from Florida to Alaska and even Canada and I know western Montana has tough country. If you dont think so its because you havent been there. So what if people use sleds while cathunting others use horses. I never read anything bad about them cutting off a few steps. I for one like the fact that eastmans put on a cathunt and look forward to seeing it. I have watched a bunch of there shows and enjoy the effort they put into them. There should be another lion hunt on Dish channel 230 this coming Thursday around 7ish on a show called Taxidermy trails but dont bother watching it because i'm sure they ride sleds to every cat tree, only hunt flat ground and wait for the perfect snow to go out. I'm sure they could use a few years worth of lionhunting lessons

Matter of fact I bet Eastmans wasnt even there they probably edited themselvs into the show from the comfort of there own home
Dont be a fool cover your tool. When in doubt cover your spout.
