lets be real here fair chase is not the same for every one i mean one could think as long as there are no fences then its fair chase but still on private land others say it has to be 100% public so really what is fair chase.

The problem with splitting hairs, is that inevitably morals and ethics become eroded...look around at our present society.

Dawg, you should sit down and write a book of "Hound Huntin' Humor".
It would outsell Patrick McManus's attempt.
You definately have a unique gift in the humor department!

I have just a few questions that I would like answered:

1. Who names their pack of dogs "The Wolf Pack"?!
2. Who even has a name for their dog pack?
3. Who all refers to themselves in third person?

HD, I enjoy your writing. It is always a good laugh. Ol' Ike, you should start writing children's fiction books.

Or is it that he caught you servicing his ol lady and she smiles everytime your name is mentioned. Gawly, it got to be something like that as it seems that he really doesn't like you. Keep doing what you are doing Ike. Your stories make a good read.

Probably neither chilcotin hillbilly, I must have pissed in his cornflakes sometime in the past and it just never did set well with him. Haven't you ever watched Jackass? I swear that one dude on Jackass is either Brent McGhee or a brother.....might have to run a DNA deal on them!

But back to the subject, my outfitter buddy says that eastman deal will be on the outdoor channel tonight at 9:00 PM, and he promises to give it a watch for me and let me know what the deal is.............

As for the snow machines, radio and gps collars go you guys down south don't have to worry about it but we have a serious wolf problem up here in northwest montana.I will use anything that is legal to stay as close to my dogs as posible.I was running a track on march 18th of this year when a pack of wolves came in to my dogs I was only about 500 yards from them when they killed my best dog if I had not had the collars and snow machine I would have lost all three of them.It does not matter what you use to locate your dogs or how you get to them I don't need to prove how tough I am it's all about how good the dogs are.

I agree with you. i am very very sorry to hear you lost a dog. Glad it wasn't more. Until someone is faced with these circumstances, it is easy to pass judgment.

I got an invite to go watch Mike Eastman Hunting Big Mountain Lions last night, started not to but after getting kicked around in this post I figured what the heck. Gee, I didn't know the snow got that deep anywhere.........but my buddy and I had a great time watching the big boys hunt those big mountain lions. I was lucky and got to sit under my buddies Boone & Crockett tom lion, so while they were catching females I could roll my head around and look a super tom lion right in the face.

Seriously, the clip was fun to watch an all that snow put me in mind of a bobcat hunting video I have from Maine--deep stuff! If I heard correctly, Mike made three different trips back to hunt in fresh snow and the one they started for the kill was a big tom track, a tom in the tree and then maybe a bitch on the ground according to my observations. I guess lion hunting and killing those big toms are tough about everywhere these days.
