Re: Old School Hounds!?!
Just go on the breeds column and pick up his thread and e-mail on this forum he is on it daily. He is a no BS guy and if you go hunting with him you better wear comfortable boots and pack a big lunch. He is more at home up in them high peaks than a mountain billy. LOL!
AWESOME HOUNDS! And I do mean hounds!!!

Hound Crazy : Like Mike Said You won't go wrong with Liontracker . Fair ,Honest, No BS ,Straight shooter. If he tells you something you can take it to the bank. Just curious though what is the facination with the BIG HOUNDS????
Re: Old School Hounds!?!
I guess its just the way they look and sound mainly! I like a dog that will work a cold track slower and steadier as opposed to one that tries to do everything 100 miles an hour and is making loses none stop. I realize thats not related to "size" as much but thats what im after. I love the dogs I have now and there giving me my start but I wanna work towards having a pack of big long eared bawl mouthed lion hounds someday!!!
P.s. I like the way they can wade through the 4 feet of snow we have up here sometimes Lol!

Re: Old School Hounds!?!
A big old, heavy hound may well be more likely to fall through a four foot snow than a lighter hound, plus a lighter hound is cheaper to feed and may be easier on foot wear than a dog packing weight. Those are just a few things to think about while building a pack of hounds. However, if a guy likes the long eared bawl type hounds then that is what is gonna make him happy................
Good luck,

Riley Miller has some of the biggest hounds I've ever seen. They leave piles most dogs can't jump over.
Re: Old School Hounds!?!
Well they'll be big enough i might just have to widdle up some snow shoes for em' Ike
No but seriousy I know what you mean, it seems though alot more often then not, none of the dogs are staying on top of it round here......I just want some that won't get high centered if they hit an aunt hill
Brindle where did your dog come from?
